Muse of the Month 02 - Haley Guildford
This month, we’re shining a light on the incredibly talented Haley, a sought-after wedding photographer who we’re lucky enough to have behind the lens of ABR SKIN. Her ability to capture the essence of love and beauty extends beyond weddings into the world of skincare, bringing our products to life through her stunning imagery.
But Haley isn’t just a creative force—she also has the most radiant skin, which she credits to her love for skincare and the full ABR range (alongside a few other skincare faves) that both she and her partner swear by. We sat down with her to chat about photography, skincare, and the little rituals that make her feel her best.
Q: You’re known for capturing love stories through your photography. How did you get started, and what do you love most about wedding photography?
A: I got into enjoying photography on my OE when I was 22 with a little Fuji point and shoot (Millennials know this was a staple in our bags anywhere we went). Europe offers the best canvas for taking photos, and I was hooked. When I got home, I decided to study and completed a certificate in digital photography, which I loved. At the time, I was following a photography duo – Bayly & Moore – and they inspired me to start capturing weddings. They are still an inspiration for me today. The things I love the most – meeting cool people and hearing about their lives together, how they met, and seeing their creativity and personalities unfold on their happiest day. Taking photos of these things and wrapping up their story – it’s a special feeling.
Q: You’ve been behind the scenes for so many ABR moments—what has been your favourite part?
A: Any shoot with Annie is a fun day! We actually met when I was shooting her good friend’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid, and I’ve been working with Annie ever since. I loved capturing Annie’s wedding day – she has flawless taste and is a beautiful person, inside and out, which makes taking photos so easy. Content days at Annie’s are always fun too – playing with ABR Skin.
Q: Your skin always looks incredible! Have you always been into skincare, or did your love for it grow over time?
A: My mum is my OG skin queen, and I give her full credit for always having had a good skincare routine. I have the best memories of choosing skincare products when we went shopping, and it was a little daily ritual applying them. From about 12 years old, I was dabbing eye cream with my ring finger and massaging upwards on my neck – thanks Mum!
Q: You and your partner both use the full ABR range—what are your go-to products, and what changes have you noticed in your skin?
A: If I had to choose one, it would be the Vitamin C. I love this first thing in the morning with the mist. The spritz and the serum create a little glow, and I have some pigmentation, so it’s ideal for that. A big change would be more plump and hydrated skin. I’m used to having quite dry skin, but it’s never been more hydrated since using the Actives Trio (C, Hyaluronic and retinol).
Q: What is one skincare step you never skip, no matter how busy you are?
A: Washing my face at the end of the day. 100%. Having that clean skin feeling is unbeatable.
Q: Any skincare rituals or self-care moments you swear by?
A: The days when you can do all the things. It’s not an all-the-time luxury, so it feels more special when you can do it. I’m talking cleanse, mini peel, mask, tone, serums and all the rest of it. Combined with a hair wash and leg shave – gold.
Q: When you’re not behind the camera, what’s your favourite way to unwind and take care of yourself?
A: Massage – hands down. Absolute favourite.
Q: What has been the most rewarding moment in your photography career so far?
It sounds cliché, but when people become friends and I get to work with them again and again. Some I’ve captured their birthdays, engagements, weddings, parents’ weddings and all the bits in between – pretty cool to be a part of their best moments. Also, getting to travel to beautiful locations. It’s never felt like work, which is really important to me.
